​Diplomatic Relations between Mauritius and Mozambique​

Diplomatic Relations between Mauritius and Mozambique were established on 29 November 1984. H.E. Mr Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique undertook a State Visit to Mauritius from 30 January to 02 February 2019 in the context of the commemoration of the 184th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Mauritius.

On 15 January 2020, H.E. Mr. P. Roopun, President of the Republic of Mauritius attended the Swearing in Ceremony of H.E. President on his re-election as President of the Republic of Mozambique.

The first Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC) between Mauritius and Mozambique took place in Mauritius from 08 to 09 August 2019.  During the Ministerial Session, a MoU on Cooperation in the field of Liquefied Natural Gas between the State Trading Corporation and Empresa Nacional Hidrocarboneto was signed. The MoU provides for the establishment of a Joint Technical Committee (JTC) and an Implementation Plan. ​

Air Services Agreement

In 2006, the Mozambican authorities were approached with the proposal to establish a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) with Mauritius.
The Mauritian Aeronautical Authorities and the Civil Aviation Institute of Mozambique have held bilateral Air Service Talks in Port Louis in February 2011 leading to the signature of a MoU.
Scholarship
​One scholarship is offered yearly at the University of Technology Mauritius to a Mozambican student provided that entry requirements are met by the student.
